PavleS is a project of TeamCAD company, aimed at showcasing how only a building that combines BIM and information from various sensors can be considered a smart one.

Thanks to our team of experts, we were able to develop a user-friendly application and establish a complete system of sensors and servers that transformed the "Pavle Savić" Technical School in Novi Sad. This ordinary high school has now become a large, smart facility that can provide valuable information by combining sensor data with BIM information. The project is still ongoing, and we are constantly improving it to make it even more efficient.

First modules

When PavleS project was introduced to the market, its first module allowed for the analysis of used rooms by combining information from the BIM model with data provided by motion sensors. In simple terms, the system received data on which rooms were not used since the last cleaning and thus, it was not necessary to clean them again. This helped save time, effort, and money.

Another module provided insight into the temperature of each room, which made it possible to turn off unnecessary cooling or heating elements in empty rooms and maintain the optimal temperature without incurring additional costs. This system made management of large buildings with vast square footage easy. Moreover, the addition of various modules could further expand its capabilities, ensuring better facility maintenance.

New modules

We are excited to announce the development of two new modules by our team of experts, who have been working hard to explore and expand the potential of IoT and digital twins technologies. These modules are:

1. Window Status Display Module: This module displays the status of open (red) and closed (green) windows, for rooms equipped with sensors. This feature helps you protect your property from damage caused by storms or other weather conditions. By seeing which windows are open, you can ask someone to close them and prevent any potential damage, such as broken glass, water damage to floors, furniture, and more.

2. Warning Module: All users of the PavleS application can register on the Telegram channel to receive warnings, primarily for weather alerts. PavleS is connected to the warning system of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). When the WMO issues a weather warning, registered users will receive a notification via Telegram. By following the instructions in the message, you can check sensor information and react promptly. For example, if you receive a message that a storm is expected, sending the message WINDOWS will get you a list of rooms where windows are open, making it easier to find and close them.

We are proud to work on this project, as we believe that modern solutions like PavleS can greatly benefit facilities of all kinds, including building for educational purposes. This application can help maintain, save, and control the conditions in the facility, as well as simplify work processes, reduce costs, and improve organization and functioning of the building.

PavleS has the potential to have a significant impact on larger and more complex facilities, such as factories, shopping centers, warehouses, and entire office buildings.

When we say a "smart building," most people in Serbia usually think of a new, expensive, modern building. You can acces it with a tag key, it is covered with cameras, and equipped with sensor-activated lighting. But, that is not what makes a building smart.

But a truly smart building exists in Novi Sad. We can confidently say that it is Serbia's smartest building, and the only one with this advanced technology. And what really is a "smart building"?

By our definition, a building is smart if it provides information, assists in decision-making, gives notifications, and offers savings.

The PavleS Project

The "PavleS" project isn't a fancy lab or factory. It's a school. Yep, a school. It's a TeamCAD project, whose goal is to shows attitude that only an object with a synergy of BIM and information from various sensors can be called a smart building.

Thanks to the expertise of TeamCAD specialists, an application has been developed and a system of sensors and servers has been set up, which led to technological transformation. The "Pavle Savić"  Technical School in Novi Sad became a smart facility. By integrating data from sensors and BIM, this high school is now able to provide a wealth of valuable information.

We can confidently say that this is the most advanced building in Serbia, and the only one to have implemented such cutting-edge technologies. Our definition of an intelligent building is one that provides information from the model itself, assists with decision-making, and delivers alerts that enable tangible savings.

The sensors and information

One of the modules offered by our platform allows for the analysis of occupied spaces by combining information from BIM models and motion sensors. This module makes it easy to identify which rooms have not been used since the last cleaning, thereby eliminating the need to clean them unnecessarily. This not only saves time but also enables staff to be deployed where they are most needed.

The system generates a report that contains the names, surfaces, and total area of the rooms that require cleaning. This report can be printed or exported, which helps in reducing costs and manpower significantly.

Additionally, the platform also includes a module that provides insights into the temperature in each room. This feature enables users to turn off unnecessary cooling or heating in empty rooms and maintain an optimum temperature without incurring unnecessary costs.

This system is particularly useful for managing large buildings, and by adding different modules, users can extend the capabilities of the system to enable better maintenance of buildings and provide more comfortable living conditions while reducing costs.

We were thrilled to work on this project because it allowed us to demonstrate how a modern solution can benefit facilities of all kinds, including educational institutions, by facilitating the maintenance, conservation, and control of facility conditions.

Moreover, imagine the potential impact of this solution on a larger and more complex facility, such as a factory, shopping center, warehouse, or an entire office building. It could simplify various work processes, reduce heating, cooling, cleaning, and security costs, and enhance the organization and functioning of the building.
